Kevin Morgan

Kevin Morgan has been Principal Trombone with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for over thirty years.

As well as having performed with many of the UK’s symphony orchestras (LSO, LPO, CBSO, BBCNOW) he gained an MA in Music Education and has written, presented and performed in hundreds of education workshops and concerts. He has tutored youth orchestras and brass bands (including the National Youth Brass Band of Wales) and given masterclasses for the National Youth Orchestra and at the Guildhall School of Music.

He has also written a trombone tutor “Zen and the Art of the Trombone”.

As a composer, Kevin’s music has been performed by Kokoro (the modern music ensemble of the BSO), the Mini BSO (the BSO’s five piece education ensemble), Bournemouth Symphonic Brass and various brass and trombone ensembles in the UK and USA. He composed, recorded and produced the original music for his album “Off the beaten tracks” and has written commercially for various clients. The song “Lest We Forget” has been performed worldwide and headlined at the National Children’s Remembrance Concert at the NEC in 2018 and the song “Brazilian Attack” has been featured on BBC Radio.

He is currently Musical Director of the Moonlight Swing Band.
