Isabel Morrison studied piano, singing and clarinet at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. She has a well-established private teaching practice in Amble, Northumberland, where she has lived for many years with her husband and family. She teaches piano and singing at the local high school, plays the organ at the local church and runs a small girls’ choir.

Isabel has been involved with the Wansbeck Music Festival in Northumberland for many years, as a committee member, official accompanist and composer of test pieces for the Festival. She particularly enjoys the challenge of composing “to order”, for specific age groups, instruments and abilities. Her compositions include music for recorder, brass ensemble, cello, school choir and school orchestra.

Isabel’s most recent compositions include 2 pieces of piano music which are now being regularly played in a popular piano bar in Montmartre, Paris. These pieces were inspired by the musical ambience of Montmartre and Isabel is currently composing further piano pieces to complete a Sketchbook of Montmartre.
