Simon Lesley

Simon Lesley is a lecturer and director of Birmingham City University’s Popular Music undergraduate programme.  He is widely published as a composer-arranger, his works being published by Warwick Music, Universal Edition, Faber Music and Music Sales among others.  His Three Sketches (TB111) won the British Trombone Society composition competition and he was awarded a PhD in composition at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2012.

As a performer he has held the post of Solo Trombone for championship brass band, the Staffordshire Band, and has improvised his way through the Cheltenham and London International Jazz Festivals.
