Tim Higgins began his musical training in Houston, TX, studying with Michael Warny, Second Trombonist with the Houston Grand Opera and Ballet. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Northwestern University under the tutelage of Michael Mulcahy, Second Trombonist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has performed and recorded with a number of orchestras, including the Milwaukee Symphony, Virginia Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Washington National Opera, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In addition to a busy orchestral life, Tim Higgins also founded a prize winning trombone quartet (CT3) and was the winner of the 2005 Robert Marstellar Solo Trombone Competition. In February 2008 he gained the position of Principal Trombone with the San Francisco Symphony.
