We are thrilled to announce that our pBone has helped us to beat hundreds of small businesses to win the Innovation of the Year prize at the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2013. The judging panel included Lord Sugar’s right-hand woman in BBC1’s The Apprentice, Karren Brady.
As you probably know, pBone was the world’s first plastic trombone – which is one heck of an innovation accolade - and in 2012 the pBone was the biggest selling trombone of any kind in the World, which is a pretty impressive stat, one of which we are very proud of.
So it is truly exciting that all of our team’s hard work has been recognised by the people behind the national Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2013.
We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to receive business advice directly from Karren Brady, at the Nectar Business Round Table event this morning. Her advice has been invaluable.
Winning the Innovation of the Year award thanks to the sheer originality of its product has meant that we will be able to use the prize money and Nectar Business points to help launch a new stream of pBone educational workshops in schools throughout the UK, as well as helping to reduce international travel cost with Nectar travel partners.
The judging panel included business experts: Karren Brady; Nectar Marketing Director, James Frost; Brakes Marketing Director, David Hughes and Chris Li, founder of Luxury For Less and winner of the Nectar Business Small Business of the Year Award 2012.
We have recently been announced finalist in this year’s National Business Awards and just this week for two categories in the Birmingham Post Business Awards – which we are thrilled about - so to go on to win the Nectar Business Award is such an honour.
We have to wait a bit longer to find out about the National Business Awards later this year though, but this will include a sparkling reception at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, fingers crossed!
