Just a few months after the launch of pBuzz, our brand-new instrument - designed to encourage children to take up the playing of music - has been awarded ‘Gold’ in the UK’s top primary teacher awards.
pBuzz is helping to develop the next generation of brass musicians – and is seen as an alternative to traditional ‘first-time’ instruments such as the recorder. It has already experienced record worldwide sales following its launch in June and we have received an overwhelmingly positive response from children, parents and music teachers alike.
Entries for the Practical Pre-School and Primary Teacher Update Awards, now in its 15th year, are tested by childcare professionals and children. They celebrate excellence in product design, development and suitability across a wide range of categories in the early years and pre-school sectors.
The Award judges said: “We loved the bright colour of the instrument and the durable plastic it is made of. [The children] loved exploring the register of the instrument and were amazed at how lengthening and shortening it by means of sliding the outer part made different notes. Very useful and clever idea to have the different notes coloured on the inside of the slide. A brilliant instrument at a brilliant price.”
pBone Music CEO, Steven Greenall, said: “We are so pleased that pBuzz won gold. We are proud that pBuzz is designed and manufactured here in the Midlands. Our aim is to inspire the next generation of musicians, and recognition from the Primary Teacher Awards will go a long way to recommending our instrument to educators and parents everywhere.”
