The bright red, lightweight, and easy-to-learn pBuzz offers a truly authentic musical instrument experience and has been included in elementary general music programs around the world since 2014. The unique instrument has been used successfully by many music teachers to teach students basic music skills and concepts. It provides for visual, aural, and kinesthetic learning and can be easily included in a progression that includes a traditional elementary curriculum.
Offering a truly authentic musical instrument experience, the pBuzz has a range of 6 notes through its movable slide. The slide positions are outlined by Orff colors, note names, and also slide positions. Teachers who love to use the pBuzz in their classrooms do so because it teaches students important lessons in the proper use of air, creating tone and notes and ensemble playing, and encourages peer-to-peer learning.

New pBuzz Journey Method Book
Now, lessons learned by actual pBuzz teachers have been put into a new method book so that more teachers can provide the full musical impact that learning pBuzz provides. The book was created with teachers led by Sarah Todd, Brad Seagraves, and Daniel Welch and is available from Hal Leonard Publishing and most music dealers. Ask for item #HL 01359074.
Backing tracks for school spirit songs, modern band songs, along with songs for Mariachi, jazz, holiday songs, and even traditional recorder songs for pBuzz round out the book. There is even a certificate of achievement for teachers to reward the progress of their students.

Rich grew up on Chicago’s south side and attended Marist High School, where he was an active member and drum major of the school’s marching band. He attended Elmhurst College (University), receiving a degree in marketing and music-business. His early career included time at the Chicago Symphony and Ravinia Festival organizations, as well as classes at the Chicago-Kent College of Law. Rich’s career has been dedicated to music education. He has worked closely with educators, professionals, retail businesses and corporations. He has established key education partnerships and has served on the board of directors for several non-profit education organizations. He has provided executive planning and marketing acumen for 21st century companies through Strategic Marketing Management, LLC since 2011. Prior to opening his own firm, he served in key management roles at KHS America, Inc., the Conn-Selmer division of Steinway & Sons, Inc., and United Musical Instruments, all worldwide manufacturers and distributors. He served in the management of the SMART Foundation which provided programs and advocacy support for arts education. He has also authored several publications focused on the arts and education and has served on the boards of non-profit music education organizations.
