Simon Proctor is a British composer, pianist, and flautist, famous for his works for unusual instruments. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London where he won the Eric Coates Prize, amongst others.

He has composed a wide variety of orchestral, vocal and instrumental music which have been performed throughout the UK and Europe, Asia , Canad and parts of the USA.

Notable among these is his Concerto for Serpent and Orchestra, and his Concerto for keyed bugle. The Amherst Suite also features the serpent.

He has also composed a great number of other less well-known works, including concerti for the organ, trumpet, and many works for solo piano including a seven-part fugue.
