Matthew Ruddock

Matthew Ruddock is a multi-instrumentalist based in County Durham. Having played the piano since the age of 5, Matthew started to learn the trumpet at the age of eight, and has since played with a number of ensembles, including becoming Principal Cornet of Durham University Brass Band in 2013. A founding member of the Palace Green Brass Quintet, Matthew has also played with the jazz group Reckless Brass, Middleton and Teesdale Silver Band, Stanhope Silver Band and a number of orchestras and big bands. He conducted the orchestra at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, and in 2014 took up the post of Associate Conductor in Durham University Brass Band, whilst reading Music at the university. He has arranged and composed for almost every band he has participated in, ranging from classical pieces to the latest pop songs.
