Simon or 'Lenny' to his friends ('Beethoven' to his NVQ Brickwork course colleagues!) won a scholarship to study trumpet at Trinity College of Music in 1988.

Since graduating in 1991 he has freelanced across the spectrum of professional music making in the UK and is known for his capacity to play in all styles whether it be 'period' Baroque orchestras or playing lead trumpet in the UK tours of Amercian super groups like The Temptations or Sister Sledge.

He is also a keen arranger for the quintet and has the substantial Fine Arts Brass library in his loft. When he is not repairing the cracks the library leaves in his ceiling, he enjoys walking his faithful basset hound, Cuthbert, laying a mean brick (he holds NVQ brickwork qualifications) and driving his increasingly unreliable Landrover.
