Porter Davies (Pat) Henry was born May 25, 1941 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to the home of Madge and A.P. Henry. He passed from this life on Monday morning, April 28, 2003, at his home at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 3 days.

Mr. Henry graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1959. He attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education in 1963, and a Masters in Music Ed in 1964. In Clovis on March 22, 1964 he was married to Jane Phillips.

He spent many of his 32 years in education in Carlsbad, where he built and exemplary music program. While in Carlsbad, his bands performed at Disneyland, Denver Bronco's football games, the Orange Bowl, the Hula Bowl, Jimmy Carter;s inaugural parade and the 4th of July parade in Washington, DC. Pat was the founder and director of the Carlsbad Music Festival and the Executive Secretary for the Southeastern New Mexico Music Educators Association.
