Bruce Fraser has established a reputation as a multi-faceted composer in Europe with Lomond Music's range of titles for young brass and concert bands. He also has had published a vast number of compositions and arrangements for concert band and brass which are regularly used in contests.

There have been many commissions for a variety of groups, including a Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra for John Wallace, SUN for BBC Young Brass player Katrina Marzella and a Concerto for Tuba virtuoso James Gourlay, which is available in Brass Band, Concert Band, Piano and Orchestral accompaniments. His work, HELLAS for Trombone and Piano is the set piece for the British Trombone Society competition for young players 2008 and the duet TWIN SLIDES, commissioned by Brett Baker of the famous Black Dyke Band, was premiered recently by Brett and other trombone virtuoso Chris Jeans.

As a conductor he has been conducting brass bands, choirs and wind bands for over thirty years. As an adjudicator he has appeared at many Music Festivals, Brass Band Competitions and Wind Band Festivals throughout the UK and Europe. He recently was president of the Jury of a Wind Band Festival in Italy, a Brass Band Competition in Holland and on the panel of Jurors of a Composition Competition in Italy. He is great demand working with young bands and ensembles in workshops and concerts.

In 2006 he took early retirement as Head of Music at Buckhaven High School in Fife and is developing his career as a composer and adjudicator. His work IMPERIUM was selected as the 2007 Third Section National Brass Band Test Piece. He has a busy writing schedule and is always looking for new composition and other musical opportunities.
